Project Sunshine

Project Sunshine is a small non-profit organization in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Their aim is: "To support the members of our community in their time of need, and work towards a greater good."

Among other things, Project Sunshine volunteers have prepared and served breakfast at The Victory House of Lehigh Valley in nearby Bethlehem, PA. The Victory House is a homeless services organization whose facility has 40 beds to provide for transitional housing. Or in my words, a year-round homeless shelter.

Why does this interest me? I live 3,000 miles away from Allentown, but my two daughters and their husbands own homes there. They and the banks, that is, mortgages and all of that. They are friends (or could be called extended family) of the founders of Project Sunshine.

Daughter Dawn and husband Mike have participated in cooking and feeding homeless area residents at The Victory House.

I do not know what a Motorcycle run is exactly other than a fundraiser and lots of motorcycles on display. The 2012 event is being held on June 30th. See Project Sunshine's new website for more info.
