Crying Baby

Tempted to say "I have never heard a baby cry that long," but it is likely a lie. My daughter, Lori cried a lot as a baby. Too long ago to remember; did she cry for two hours straight? Is this baby crying two hours straight? As with Bill and Chris talking I am going to check time, next time the baby starts to cry, it seems to go on and on for hours and hours. Every Saturday and Sunday.

It is Saturday, September 18, as I type; post back-dated. No one that lives in this apartment complex has a baby. All singles, now that old manager and wife relocated to building in Los Angeles. Chris and John had ladies living with them for a while. Do not know much about Jerome, the cat who has lived upstairs, across from manager's apartment for 20 some years. He does have grown children, but living alone now.

Chris is not home on Saturdays. Think, ahhh, can finally open my door to air out apartment. Not. Due to baby crying. Do not know woman's name who moved in diagonally across from me, next to Chris' apartment. Have seen her a few times when checking the mail; she does not respond to a greeting and keeps eyes face-front, like a horse with blinders. We are the only females in the building, and know she speaks to the men, knows their names and all.

Her sister lives in complex across the street. The crying baby, I assume, is hers. Maybe Ms. X babysits on weekends. As with Chris, the sound of baby crying would be lessened if only she would close her door. Often Ms. X has company; all giggling, laughter, loud voices, is that Karaoke or a parlor game they are playing. Other times if it is not the stereo, it is the television blaring.

This goes on all afternoon and sometimes way past 10PM, the "no loud talking or disturbing noises in common area" cut off time. Neither Ms. X nor Chris are in courtyard, when they are disregarding noise rules; they are inside their own apartments. Add to the weekend mix of her noise ~ and I wonder if she paid some attention to that crying baby if it would stop ~ is Doug.

Doug lives at the other end of the building. No way I should ever hear his TV or stereo. He has turned it down, since I mentioned it; was very nice; claimed it was not his; though both of us know it was. Ditto Mike. Mike knows.

I asked Mike if he ever complained to manager. Mike said it is like calling the city to complain, if only one does it, city ignores it. Need a lot of complaints. Du'oh, Mike, that is why I want you to complain to manager, as you do to me. Mike lives right next to Doug. Manager might say, "Well, Mike (and Phil and Sean) are not complaining...".

So even tho' Chris is not at home, still can not open my front door. I get angry. They all are enjoying their lives and apartments, at my expense. They can leave doors open; I can not, unless I want to suffer even louder noise, than it is with door closed. Sad.
