View from the Back Door
Alamitos and Ocean Blvd. made homeless mornings more tolerable viewing Morning Glories and other flora/fauna along beach entrance.
Today I have my own Morning Glory view from the back door. There is about 2 inches of space between sidewalk and chain link fence. Prior to new owner chopping down the long needled pine in his yard, the gutter space would fill with those needles. I cleaned them out, not just in front of my back door/windows but along length of fence behind neighbors apartments as well.
I put plastic bags in space directly opposite my door; filled with potting soil. The last two years did not give me many flowers; this year is a banner year; vines fill with multi-color Morning Glories. Only problem is the new too bright security light is causing them to bloom at 2AM, rather than at dawn. And they start closing early in the day, rather than late, completely closed long before dark which is their normal cycle.
Yet, while they last, it is glorious sight to see from my back door.
