The same Patch article mentioned the city will build 35 Tiny Homes as temp shelter for unhoused.
"Each unit will be 100 square feet and include a bed, restroom and shower, lighting, HVAC and storage, the city said. Fire suppression systems will also be included in each unit." Staff writer, Rachel Barnes
The homes will be built on a Multi-Service Center lot. I remember the MSC parking lot, but do not recall much else, about the outside. I vaguely recall climbing up and down a hill to get to and from the Center.
I would have loved one of those private tiny homes when on the streets.
The program will provide 3 meals a day to the residents. The temp 60 warming bed program is looking for volunteers to provide meals at the MSC. They did provide a Sunday meal. I also wonder if the meals were brought in boxed style or set up buffet style in same room as the beds.
Do not miss living on streets; terribly miss Long Beach and interested in how many of my homeless peers are alive and still on the streets.
