Flickering Lights

Two things happened around the same time at apartment complex. One, the neighbor from hell moved in next door. As in sharing kitchen/bathroom walls. The other was security lights being installed along sides of buildings. There are two rows of buildings separated by a courtyard and front entrance gate. Either one story building has an additional apartment upstairs in front of bldg. The 2nd story laundry room in back of bldg. is not open.

Both sets of bldgs. have back doors and walkways to alley. Have never seen ngbr. from upstairs use walkway to take out his trash/recycling. Another ngbr. on my side has cobwebs on back door. Opening back door, would disrupt them, I think. I start to wonder "How do these guys take out their trash?" Do they walk up street, west, then south to alley? Drive 'round back? Dispose of thrash elsewhere?

Guy upstairs was quite vocal about robberies in bldg. and people cutting through walkway from alley to street. I can count the number of times I saw a stranger cut through on less than the fingers of two hands. Ooh, big problem. Hello security lights.

Those lights are so bright it looks like daylight outside. No more seeing what little I used to be able to see of the stars at night. Sensor lights made more sense. Or less bright ones.

The first time reading lamp light started flickering I assumed it was about to blow. Wish I had paid more attention to when that happened. The new security lights or the new neighbor from hell, the cause of it?

Another ngbr. told me his lights flicker also. He blames his wall share ngbr. ~ runs 3 air conditioners, he said. The guy got at least one of them from old mgr. Now if old mgr. was running it, seems changing ownership would not affect electrical use. The flickering lights got so bad ~ rapid firefly flickering ~ I could no longer read. Not just annoying ~ my eyes are bad and the light dimmed so much could not see the words. Even if I turned on ceiling light which just served to give me double blinking lights from two directions.

I have noticed when neighbor from hell is home, the lights start flickering. I tried microwaving popcorn three times or ten minutes one night with out a kernal popping. Microwave on last legs? Next morning, nghbr. not home, popped corn in standard 3 minutes. So I think he is running too many high usage appliances, rather than the flickering being caused by new security lighting.

Lights not flickering with security lights already automatically turned on ~ until he gets home. That is reason one prompting me to get Internet at home.
