Courtyard House Rules and Regulations

Rule #4: No lounging, visiting or loud talking, that may be disturbing to other residents will be allowed in the common areas between the hours of 10:00PM and 7:00AM.

So it is okay to disturb other residents with loud talking and visiting? Older people tend to talk loud as their hearing goes ~ 'cause they have trouble hearing, they think others are unable to hear them. Something like that. Chris is mid-thirties; John, mid-forties.

Other people talk and visit in the courtyard. Some have loud speaking voices ~ I recognize all my neighbors by voice. The difference between Chris and all the rest is Chris never gives it a rest. When he and Bill moved into the complex, they would start talking at 6:30AM. I got so distraught one day I timed them and they talked for 6 hours straight. According to the House Rules and Regulations that is okay.

One Sunday morning when they started up shortly after 6AM ~ and I am usually awake at that hour, thank you ~ not drawn out of a deep sleep by the sound of Chris' voice which has happened ~ I was ready to go outside and ask them to can it ~ when Darryl screams "Shut Up People Are Trying To Sleep". As mentioned in prior post, Bill was evicted. Now Chris talks to him at least 8 times a day via cell phone.

John's voice is as loud as Chris'. John likes to pump up the volume, then go out in the courtyard talking to Chris or anyone else. The arguments! "I am a grown ass man. I am gonna do what I want in my house," barks John. He does not own a house; he rents an apartment with House Rules and Regulations. Alternately "You can not tell me who to talk to, I am a grown ass man; say what I want to say."

"Calling the cops." "Go ahead and call them," shouts John. Knock, knock, knock; "Open the door Chris, I want my (whatever) back." Pound, pound, pound; "Open the door Chris or I am calling the cops." "Maybe he is..." Doug. "Open the door Chris, this is David, the manager." Knock, knock, rattle screen, pound, pound. Next day Chris and John are back to being best buds.

These commotions in the courtyard are disturbing to me. Yet the manager has let me know how he feels if I darest call to inform him when other tenants are violating House Rules.

Darryl has Austism. Now and then he goes off which startles me and sometimes scares me. But I understand why this happens and would rather have two more Darryls ~ one across from me and one sharing kitchen/bathroom walls.
