Man With A Squirrel

Did not finish reading "Man With A Squirrel". Burnt out on reading. Or having "bipolar mania", unable to concentrate on anything, even tho' I never agreed with bipolar label.

Fixing rooftop park, main branch of Long Beach Public Library. "Easily startled" is a PTSD symptom, and when I hear those machines on the roof, I do almost jump outta my seat. Looking 'round at other patrons, no one seems to notice the noise. I likewise jump when the computer counter shakes. Both things make me think: earthquake. Never usta be so jumpy about earthquakes in my prior life ~ life before homelessness, that is.

Same thing at apt., every pound has me jumping. A one year old baby was killed by hit and run driver on corner of Redondo and 1oth Street, last Friday. I guess that is why the 'copters made continuous sweeps over my complex. Quite common, those 'copters. Most often they have to do with a shooting, however.

"Unless ~ is he one of the homeless that gather around there? A lot of them are vets...." is a quote from Man With A Squirrel. The "around there" is the novel's city library. Library lady felt fearful of a patron, and man she was speaking to posed the question. Yes, many, many homeless are U.S. Military veterans.
