Do you know anyone who wants to be homeless?
Can not say that I do. I have read blog post comments and stuff where some people did say they wanted to experience homelessness. Mostly young people. I met a few of them on the streets. It sounds glamorous, an adventure or something like that. I would compare them to graduates who backpack through Europe or quit a well-paying job to live in Indonesia. Technically homeless, without a home, but not actually street living people.
I also met retired men who traveled having no permanent address. They slept on trains, buses, on streets, stayed in Shelters or a cheap motel. Some did so for the experience, others simply did not have enough retirement income for affordable housing.
I knew one man who said “I choose to be homeless.” Most of my peers longed to be homed. He told some tall tales about having an expensive home in Huntington Beach, a BMW and la, de, dah.
