Isaac Harmon & Clint

I thought I wrote down how Clint met Isaac can not find it the gist~ he and the writer were in front of an antique  store, when Clint stopped and stared. Then he told Writer that is where he tried to sleep when he arrived on bus from Charlotte.

Writer found the wide doorway to "smell unsavory" ~ a junkie that usually slept there arrived and "beat the hell out of" Clint. Isaac was "across the road" (Clint points to an opening) <?between two stores? an alleyway?>

Isaac came over, soothed the junkie, gave him two cigarettes, took Clint with him. Isaac tried to talk him into going to a shelter; Clint refused.

The real life Isaac Harmon was murdered. Clint had kept in touch with Isaac after returning to Charlotte. His phone # was in Isaac's pocket, so cops called him, "someone stabbed him."  Cops "thought it might have been an argument over a doorway."

Clint was not upset that Isaac was murdered, but that he "died cold, and alone, and in pain."

"Whoever killed him might have been scarred or sick or hungry.

There are a lot of people cold, and alone sleeping rough"

I might not have that last quote exactly right ~ hard to read my scribbled note.
