8AM Sunday morning I hear Chris and Bill talking. I finally get up and check. Nope, Chris' door is not open, and yes can hear mostly Bill, even louder with my door open. Did I slam my door shut? Do not remember. I took the radio ~
~ daughter sent me a radio for Christmas gift. Not that she minded calling to wake me for Jury Duty, just because I did not have radio/alarm clock. BTW, I was fiddling with cell phone at laundromat other day, and never mind, wrote that on government blog 555 posts ~
~ put the radio on floor in front of door, turned up volume, put throw pillow over it, sat down to check to see if it was loud enuff to cover up Bill and Chris' voices, but not too loud for me. Was not loud enuff, back up to pump up the volume some more. So it is Wednesday and hello, not again, Chris' ringing phones and I do the same radio thing and do a slow burn remembering...
Foul mood. John had been surprisingly quiet for a few nights. Not much 9:30PM noise, a bit earlier shower and no two+ hours of running water. Then it was Doug's music. Now I should never hear his sounds. Happened to see him when checking mail, asked him (for the second time) to watch his volume. He acts all surprised: But I keep my door closed. Exactly. I should not be hearing it through my closed door and his closed door "you live way" pointing "down there".
"Chris has been coming over to listen to music, but I turn volume down at 10PM." Yeah I noticed that, but did he notice I could hear his "closed door" music as we spoke? The lease does not say "after 10PM, it says "at a volume that disturbs neighbors". That goes for all noise, not just TVs and stereos. Confusing because it says "no loud talking in courtyard" which makes it sound like it is okay to talk LOUD in courtyard during the day, even if it is disturbing to other renters.
What he did not say was that he and Chris are smoking, what is that called Hookah? And yes, I did know Chris was visiting one night, way past 10PM when I walked towards Doug's apartment to ask him to lower volume, heard Chris' voice, turned around and slammed my screen and front door. Which worked, I guess; Doug lowered his music that night.
I have not said anything to manager about Doug's stuff. The radio under pillow helps drown out the sounds. New manager not at all nice when I first complained about John, which caused me to wait a good long time before telling him about Chris' constant ringing telephones and loud talking and his answering machine. Sigh. I asked Mike to complain about Doug. He would not do it.
Well, this post is getting long. I will continue the She's Off series of posts starting with tomorrow's date. Hard to follow I guess, but I so want a nap right now.
