I am quite sure I have an account with Sign On San Diego ~ do not remember log-in info ~ so did not leave a comment to comments on the article. They were the usual: 'he is just lazy, should re-enlist, thank god for Republicans the free rides are over, what about family relations and they are always hiring truck drivers."
I start wishing evil upon people lately ~ like I hope everyone of them loses their job, their home and a loved one ~ like a child ~ 'cause then they might learn what agonizing pain is. It is easy to be patronizing online ~ when one is secure in their small little world. One upset might teach them a little humility, compassion and understanding.
The vet in the article thought he would easily become employed when he completed his military service two years ago. He has been couch surfing ~ only on the streets two or three days when interviewed for article.
It takes a mighty heartless person to view children's bloody body parts strewn across the streets of Iraq, for instance, to not have recurring nightmares about it. Veterans do turn to alcohol or drugs to ~ as one Iraqi war vet put it ~ "quiet the bees buzzing' in his head. That particular veteran was on prescription meds that made him feel depressed and suicidal which is why he switched to marijuana for relief for his tormented mind.
