I was supposed to be moving into this complex a couple of years ago. Village PSC took me to look at apartments. Some mix-up about gate key, did not get inside. There were 3 available, he said. He had me peer in the kitchen window, front apartment. Told him I would prefer an inside one ~ the front door is (was) outside the gate and I feared people constantly knocking on that, or the kitchen window.
Do not know why ~ never got to view the other two available apartments. Next he told me that the Village bought the building and I had to wait until after closing before I could get one of the apartments. Some snag in closing procedure ~ more weeks went by. Then was told that the Village was remodeling and I could wait until after it was completed. "May take a year," he told me.
So we continued looking and I moved 'round the corner from this building. Do believe the remodel was put off a bit over two years!
Most of the tenants in the building were from the Village and previously homeless. I wonder if Village workers were able to help them find new affordable apartments or if any are, now, once again living on the streets.
