Long Beach Councilwoman, Gerrie Schipske fears providing services for homeless will draw them to our city. Linton is one of many homeless in Long Beach who were not drawn to the city to utilize existing services. Street musicians, especially, are more apt to go to Venice or Santa Monica due to those cities being less restrictive than Long Beach when it comes to earning some spare change by providing entertainment.

Claudius Linton "Kingman"
Press-Telegram Staff Writer, Greg Mellon wrote an article about Claudius Linton, also known as Kingman. Linton's career as a reggae artist did not reach the heights of his peers, such as Bob Marley. He came to the U.S. with a work Visa, became homeless in Baltimore, Maryland, went to Utah, then Los Angeles. He tried to earn money on the streets of Venice Beach where he became ill and was hospitialized. He was released from the hospital in Long Beach.
