Press-Telegram article does not say where space for the Long Beach Winter Shelter was found. According to article by P-T Staff Writer, Greg Mellen, it opened 17 days late. I was surprised that Jim Lewis, CEO of the Rescue Mission who runs the shelter said that last winter with the exception of two nights, the Winter Shelter only had 135 homeless utilizing it.
Much different from my experience Winter 2004/2005.

Paul Dewitt was my friend since 2005 when I was homeless for 1 1/2yrs. Paul played a part in my bird rescue and I have photo's of him. My e-mail address is animalrescuer131@yahoo.com I just found out today my friend died and I will miss him. When I seen him last somewhere around the time he died I gave him a pre-paid McDonalds card. Something he couldnt use to buy Vodka. He is out of his pain now and in heaven and I am glad he will not have anymore sadness. He said he worked as a disc jockey for Howard Stern. I think it was a failed relationship that made him give up on life. God Bless you my forever friend. I would of given anything to of had your looks and charm.
