"We have people who were donors in the past coming to our doors now in search of help.”

Headlines proclaim "Recession Over!". Tell that to the increasing number people finding themselves somewhere they never expected to be: homeless. Citizens are jumping all over President Obama blaming him on this and so many other things, that had their beginnings long before he took office.
During the primary campaign I read often the reason for wanting Hillary Clinton as pres was "the economy was thriving when Bill was". Yet I noticed people losing jobs due to companies relocating, downsizing, outsourcing and restructuring during Clinton's first term of office, escalating with the second. Oops, need to move this post over to political blog...
Home foreclosure signs began appearing around Long Beach during the later part of President Bush's terms of service. The increased cost of fuel, had many living "one paycheck away from homelessness". Some of those were already struggling to survive.
What can President Obama do to fix this? People are clamoring "Give us jobs!" and say he should not have put health care at the top of his agenda. Yet polls during the primary showed people's number one concern was adequate health care. Go figure, as my son used to say.
Perhaps the president could make some changes to benefit citizens, but it is Republicans who wanted to end extended unemployment benefits, not President Obama who fought them on that. People who have been looking for jobs, unable to find them, cut off of their source of income are likely to be the next to try living out of cars, couch surfing or sleeping on sidewalks.
Thus if people want to play that blame game, the fingers need to be pointed at Republicans first.
