Rooftop Library

Sunday's I pull out the Press-Telegram's ad inserts. I take out what I do not read. The Sports section ~ no longer even check Yankee or Laker standings. Toss the Classified ads. No longer check out jobs, apartments, or Lost/Found stuff. After I take out what I am not going to read I am left with a newspaper as small as a daily. Why pay a buck twenty-five for that! A penny saved is a dollar earned. Might as well buy the Los Angeles Times or Orange County Register on Sunday's instead, for another quarter. Get value for my money. Can read the P-T at the library, days later when a copy is available. Or online.

Online the site takes too long to load. All those ads. And pop-ups. When I still had Internet at home, I wished I could subscribe to the paper online if they ditched the ads. Instead I would walk up the corner and buy the paper. That said because I am oh, so sorry I did not notice Sunday, July 19th's headline about Main library's rooftop park. I would have bought the paper.
I used to link to Press-Telegram (and other online newspapers) articles. The article links disappear when the articles are archived. I miss the rooftop park, so enjoyed seeing the photographs in the paper. I used to have many photo's clipped from the P-T; especially loved the photo's of rainbows seen 'round the city. Can not recall the last time I saw a rainbow in Long Beach; used to see them all the time. I called us The Rainbow City. Many photo ops for those with good cameras. Double rainbows over the ocean.

Because I did not buy Sunday's paper, can not clip the aerial shot of the rooftop park. Of course, I have already taken my blog posts offline, so no big deal. My mentions of the park now private. A picture is worth a thousand words. Easier to show readers the mazes than for me to describe them. I write a lot. Does not make me a good writer.
