Thankful for small miracles.

John not only lowered that awful sound, he seems to have turned off his television as well. Sleeping maybe? A little nap before he heads out to work at 2:30AM? There is still some noise; in his kitchen again; Chris in courtyard, maybe he was arriving home after visiting John? Thankful he was not outside very long, was not too loud, was not coughing.

Of course, because I decide I am going to bed while it is quiet, noise starts up again, in John's kitchen. Hot water faucet makes a horrid high-pitched squealing sound. I turn the knob a bit and sound goes away, turn it off, use cold water, turn hot back on for final dish rinse. I do not know why. Is it because that is how I learned to do dishes? With hot water? To kill germs? Anyway, John never turns the knob to stop the squealing, nor does Chris when Chris is in John's apartment doing the dishes.

The water does get very hot here, hence my turning it off a bit, rather than having trying to rinse with low pressure stream; full blast like that, water gets too hot faster.

So wonder, almost midnight, is it safe now, to turn off the computer and go to sleep? Is he done in the kitchen? Or is he going to start washing something again? Or opening/closing drawers/cabinets with lots of noise? Sigh, sigh, sigh.

But I am thankful for small miracles ~ knock wood, no TV, radio, stereo, spooky music...
