Several years ago I had four websites. I learned all the hype about earning a living via the Internet was just that: hype. At the time I came across a website produced by teens who were living with an abusive father. Money helped the father gain custody. This is not an unusual story, abusive spouses do convince courts that the non-abusive parent is crazy or unfit mother.
