Eerily Quiet

8:30PM eerily quiet. Chris's door is closed, lights out, maybe he went away for the night? Could hear a pin drop; not even the sound of a car going by. Think of the song "Everyone's Gone To The Moon".

10:28PM: John futzing around in his kitchen, and talking. A bit ago heard music. Actually went outside, thinking, it could not possibly be coming from Darryl's apartment. It was not. Perhaps a car across the street. Did not go outside the gate to find out. May have been Shaggy, music I like, but not when I am ready to go to sleep. Was ready to go to sleep.

Kitchen faucet makes a pig squealing sound; mine is hot water faucet, have to turn up a notch so a bit faster flow than I am used to, but stops the noise. Guess John's does that too. Sounds like it is echoing off opposite side of my apartment. Opposite side of room, from kitchen doorway and our shared wall.

Strange day. Chris's lights and TV were off early this morning, door wide open, but not a cough to be heard. Could he have went out and left door open? That did not last, of course, yet he was basically quiet all day. His talking did not irritate me until around 3:30PM, which is when I turned on radio. Moved plant from windowsill and noticed: Chris's lights off,  door closed, turned off radio. Later hear the coughing, think it must be from Doug, yet I hear Chris talking. Strange.

Not a plant. Ivy that usually grows like wild in jar of water, seems like not grown an inch in over a year. Moved it from back dresser top, due to lack of sunshine from those high windows; put on hallway dresser, moving to windowsill behind (or is that in front) of blinds when sun is brightly shinning.

In between when music started and John started, and coughing started, someone yelled for Chris and Chris replied. That is why it is strange day. His door is shut. his lights are out. That is a first. Wonder if he snuck Bill inside. Nah, he always left the lights on other times he closed door due to having Bill or the lady visiting, staying over.

10:43PM: Now John is running his bath water. Now John has every right in the world to do stuff in his kitchen and take baths when he wants to. But I have zero right to go to sleep when I am tired on account of the dumb luck of getting him as a neighbor. This is strange. His water stops running for a second and now is twice as loud as it was before. Maybe he had shower running and now is filling the tub, or the other way around. Could not have been his bathroom sink, running water would not have been that loud.
